A reading session that leads to solving

  1. Start with the physical question. Sketch the situation and say what changes before reading the equation.
  2. Make a prediction. Decide on a direction, a limiting case or an expected size. Keep it beside your calculation.
  3. Attempt, then compare. Work through a question before revealing help. If you need a hint, name the decision you missed.
  4. Return with a changed condition. Use the chapter’s return questions to check whether you can select the model again without the example in view.

Your saved problems and reading positions help you return. They are study records, not a claim of mastery.
